At the beginning of the semester, my MMM leadership development goal was to expand my leadership skills by attending workshops and sessions that would help me develop a better understanding of how to lead effectively in various contexts. I wanted to learn more about how to manage stress, handle self-doubt, and build inclusive environments, as well as how to support others in leadership roles.
βDon't Burn Out, Burn Bright!β focused on understanding and managing stress and burnout. The session explained that while stress is a short-term response to pressure, burnout is a long-term state of exhaustion caused by chronic stress. It emphasized the importance of recognizing the early signs of burnout, both in ourselves and in others, and offered strategies for maintaining energy, balance, and motivation. This presentation provided valuable tools to lead with empathy and support, ensuring that both leaders and teams can thrive without burning out.
I attended this Leadership Development presentation which explored different personality types and how they influence our thoughts and behaviors. The session helped identify which personality traits I relate to most and how certain compulsive habits can create stress and hold us back. It provided practical strategies for overcoming self-doubt and building confidence, offering tools to turn these challenges into opportunities for growth. It was a meaningful experience that helped me better understand myself and how to lead effectively.
This session focused on understanding key concepts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, emphasizing the importance of shared language in fostering inclusive environments. It provided valuable insights into how diverse perspectives strengthen leadership and team dynamics, offering tools to create spaces where everyone feels valued and heard. This experience was a great step toward building skills for leading effectively in a diverse and interconnected world.
